A year ago the Hampshire Engineering Service was started at 26 Sumner Ave., Florence, to meet an area need for trained installations of heating and air conditioning units.
Donald Affhauser who heads the new concern, has had years of experience with sheet metal work, installing and servicing heating and air conditioning units. After graduating from Smith's School sheet metal department, he worked for a plae manufacturer, went off for service in the Pacific with the Signal Corps, headed departments for local manufacturers and managed the entire production for the last firm which employed him.
The Hampshire Engineering Service men do surveys for dealers and home and building owners of existing proposed heating and air conditioning units and make recommendations as size and type will assure the maximum efficiency of the equipment. They also sell and install the Lennox gas and oil burners, air conditioners and hand-fired furnaces.
