The Anthony Davy catalog, published in the mid 1800s is well used and full of wonderfully dated text. The 16-page booklet begins with 3 pages highlighting, with illustrations, two patented air-tight parlor stoves, and one patented air-tight cookstove. Following the illustrated pages there is a short review of the improvements made to the stoves and detailed directions on how to operate the stoves. 7 pages are dedicated to recommendations and letters written to the manufacturer by stove owners expressing joy and approval for the Anthony Davy stoves. These letters capture the use of language at the time and provide a glimpse into life in the mid 1800s.
